Quidditch - 26.1
After more than half a decade of on and off development, we are finally getting back onto our brooms in 2026. Patch 26.1 is the first patch of the plugin with initial values mostly balanced around internal and beta testing. As such expect this post to be long and the game to be an unbalanced and maybe buggy experience.
We will actively be reviewing tryout and first season games, gather as much feedback from players as possible and balance as quickly as we can to make sure every role feels equally important and fun to play!
The chasers are the most active position in the game and largely drive the early and mid game. In the first patch of quidditch we hope for chasers to score via multiple passes in tactical formations.
Hitbox expansions are additive to the range for stealing and passing. As such, chasers have an effective passing range of 103 blocks, effective steal range of 2.1 blocks and effective pickup range of 6.5 blocks
The keeper acts as the final line of defense and the primary initiator of a counter-play. The initial patch focuses mostly on the stealing aspect with limited aggressive capabilities.
The beaters are the chaos unit of every good quidditch team. A well placed bludger can make or break an offense or even a game. The initial patch has beaters in a possibly weak state as we scope out their power over the course of the first season.
The bludger power affects how much damage a bludger does on impact.
The seeker of each team carries the burden to catch the snitch and end the game. As such, their eyesight and flying ability is at the corner front of this patch.
